about

Often incorrectly credited to Sidney Bechet and sometimes called "The Quincy Street Stomp", this tune was actually written by the conductor, composer, and arranger Charles L. "Doc" Cooke in 1914. Cooke held a Doctor of Music degree, uncommon among his peers at the time.
